  • B.Com (Bachelor’s degree in Commerce): It is one of the most basic requirements of any HR firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR: Majority of the companies seek for candidates with a Bachelors degree in HR.
  • MBA (Master’s of Business Administration) in HR: An MBA in HR would prove to be an advantage in order to get an HR job in a reputed firm.
  • MMS degree in HR from Mumbai university or a MA degree from Tata institute of social sciences.
  • PG (Post Graduate) Degree in HR: A post Graduate degree in HR from any reputed college would give you an edge over others.

Skills needed for getting an HR job

In order to get a HR job in a reputed company, any HR job seeker must possess the following set of skills:

  • Computer knowledge: Basic knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Outlook, Excel, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Tally etc would prove to be an asset for HR professional.
  • People skills: A HR professional should be able to communicate as well as interact with other working professional including colleagues as well as clients of the company.

The salary received by a HR professional is pretty good though it may vary from one organisation to another organisation. As and when your experience increases in the organisation or in the industry, your salary will also rise.

Beginner (0-1 years of experience)

Monthly: Rs.15,000 to Rs.18,000

Annual: Rs.1.8 lakhs to Rs.2.16 lakhs

Professional ( 2-3 years of experience) :

Monthly: Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 30,000

Annual: Rs.2.16 lakhs to Rs. 3.60 lakhs

HR Manager professional ( 5 and above  years of experience)

Monthly: Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000

Annual: Rs.3.60 lakhs to Rs. 6.00 lakhs
